Let’s face it… everyone needs to eat.
When it comes to ranking each state based on its food, there are a few things that need to be considered.
First is the location of the state. For example, when it comes to seafood, Wyoming is expected to be dead last. It makes sense because Wyoming doesn’t land near an ocean.
Secondly, we must consider the variety of restaurants that each state offers. This number usually matches the population in each state. For example, California or Texas would have a much larger variety than Wyoming because of the higher demand.
Finally, the availability of resources for food establishments has a bigger impact than you might think. The ability to hire staff, get immediate access to product, and get the product at a reasonable wholesale price all play a vital role in the success of the organization.
So after considering these factors, where does Wyoming rank?
In a poll done by Thrillist.com in 2021, Wyoming finished 43 out of 50. The description listed was, “There’s great food in the cities, but in a state where the cow population is more than double the human population, it’s scary how many restaurants are willing to thaw out Sysco patties and steak freeze.”
What did the rest of the list look like?
Top 5 States Based on Food:
- Texas
- California
- New York
- Louisiana
- Tennessee
Wyoming beat out states like Nebraska, North Dakota, and West Virginia, which finished dead last.
Do you agree with this list? Where have you had the best meal ever?
