The municipal clerk of Scugog declared a state of emergency under the municipal election law
Monday, October 24, 2022 – The Municipal Clerk of the Municipality of Scugog has extended the deadline for voting until 9:30 p.m.
The Municipality of Scugog is relying on contracted services to process online ballots for the 2022 municipal election. The clerk pointed out that the system had problems during voting between 5:30 and 6:45 p.m. Voters who had difficulty were told their ballot had not been inserted. and the system informed them that they did not vote.
To maintain the integrity of the election, the municipal official has the discretion to declare a state of emergency and do whatever he or she deems necessary to conduct the election. Due to the delay in voting, the voting period for Scugog 2022 has been extended until 21:30
