new delhi : The union’s coal ministry on Monday said it had received a total of 38 bids for commercial mining coal mines.
It was auctioned under three commercial coal mine auctions.
In a statement, the coal ministry said it had launched the fifth set, the second attempt of the fourth set. and the second attempt of the third batch of commercial coal mining auctions on March 30, 2022, the final date of submission of technical bids for all. Coal mine on 27 June 2022
“Under the fifth auction, a total of 28 offline bids were received from 15 coal mines, with two or more bids received for eight coal mines,” the statement said. It was auctioned while receiving six bids against six coal mines.
Additionally, under the second attempt of the fourth set A total of four coal mines were put up for auction and four were auctioned from three coal mines.
Online auctions received as part of the auction process will be open from 10:00 AM onwards on June 28, 2022.
The auction of commercial mining coal mines began after the government allowed commercial mining by private players in 2020.
So far, the government has auctioned about 47 coal mines to private players. Commercial coal auctions are conducted in a two-step online auction process. This involves technical screening and submitting a competitive starting price offer as the first step. And the second and final step aims to get a better price.
The auction has also gained importance as India is looking to increase coal production to meet growing energy demand. In fiscal year 22, India’s coal production hit a record 777 million tonnes, an increase of 8.55% year-on-year. annually
