LONDON (Reuters) – Darth’s Gloves Star Wars villain Vader will be one of the most famous and familiar items from the film, television and music worlds at the annual live auction of British memorabilia company Propstore. next month

Music memorabilia is launching as a new category this year. It will have its own set date.
Lane singled out Noel Gallagher’s Gibson Les Paul Silver Sparkle Florentine guitar from his “Be Here Now” album and tour that cost around £300,000 to £500,000 as the main lot.
Music lovers can bid on David Bowie’s Major Tom astronaut costume from the “Ashes to Ashes” music video, Elvis Presley’s autographed gun application, George Harrison’s Dallas ‘E’ banjolele. and a handwritten list of Dave Grohl’s outfits from Nirvana’s “Nevermind” tour.
Lane, who has accumulated more than 30 years of props and costumes, said the current economic climate has boosted sales.
Propstore’s June auction in Los Angeles broke records with 2,000 lots sold for over $10 million, he said.
“It’s very interesting. We’ve seen this similarly in 2007 and 2008 when we were in big financial trouble. In fact, there is volatility in the market. People look for these fixed assets and things to invest their money,” he said.
“They take it off the currency market and put it into something tangible. So we have had great success with our movie props and costume auctions.”
Propstore’s live entertainment auction will take place at BAFTA’s headquarters in central London. There will be auctions online or by phone on 3-6 Nov.
