University at Buffalo Center for the Arts (UBCFA) must present”“Open Industry” A free, annual event that showcases music, dance, theater, film and visual arts created at UB.
On October 27, from 5-7:30 p.m., guests will be open to explore and view a variety of artworks and exhibits at UBCFA, a bustling arts community center where dancers, actors, filmmakers, musicians and artists come to create and perform. The event provides an opportunity for visitors to meet students and faculty to learn about the rich offering of UB’s arts programs and the creativity that its departments bring to the campus and community.
Areas of UBCFA will come alive where guests will have the opportunity to listen to live music; Watch the film; tour studio and lab space; Visit art gallery exhibitions; See works in progress and drop into theater and dance rehearsals. The event will conclude at 7:30 pm with two performances – “Bridget Moser: When I’m Through With You There Won’t Be Anything Left” and “The 25” by UB Art Gallery.m Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” by the Department of Theater and Dance.
Jamie Enser, executive director of the Center for the Arts, said, “Openly seeing all the creative activity’s wealth highlights UB’s vast offerings and the artistry of our students and faculty. “Art in the Open is an invitation to everyone, both the UB and Western New York communities, to come and explore the incredible artistic work produced at the university,” added Enser.
Art in the Open will include performances and activities curated and produced by UB students, faculty and staff from the Departments of Art, Arts Management, UB Art Galleries, Media Studies, Music, Theater and Dance, and the Arts Collaborative. Guests can meet the artists and enjoy refreshments in the UBCFA atrium
