Shadbolt Center for the Arts is thrilled to present Juno-winning vocalist Katy Giorgi (pronounced like “George”). Known for his swing music vocals, the singer-songwriter will perform on November 6 at 7:30 p.m. Studio Theatre (6450 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby).

The artist’s repertoire is full of classic standards as well as Standards-esque original compositions with tight and inspired arrangements by luminaries such as Betty Carter, Blossom Dearie and Sarah Vaughan.

An avid composer and arranger, Georgie writes songs in the style of the Great American Songbook. His compositions have been performed by vocalists around the world and he was crowned the Grand Prize Winner of the 2021 John Lennon Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category for “Secret Safe”.

Joining Gyorgy in Shadbolt’s Studio Theater are Cory Weeds (tenor saxophone), Jocelyn Waugh (trumpet), Miles Black (piano), Conrad Good (bass), and Todd Stewart (drums).
