All of us in the community are feeling the pinch inflation is upon us. The Arts Center is here for you and you want to know that there are many affordable opportunities for your family to have fun and see some great shows and events.
Without further ado, here’s how to enjoy art for under $20 in November:
Halloween-themed family fun day
October 29, 2022 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | for free
Offered three times a year, these are free all-day events geared toward families and introduce many young children in our community to their first art experiences. This year’s Family Fun Day will include: performances by AirAligned, magician Nick Fedoroff, a special youth costume contest with prizes, face painting by Lucy Galbraith and arts and crafts with Nancy Schaeffer, balloon artist, healthy concessions, plus other exciting entertainment. .
Creative Conversation Salon – “Branding Yourself as an Artist”
November 15, 2022 | 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm | Pay $5-$20 or whatever you can afford
The Arts Center is pleased to announce its new monthly program at the Granucci Gallery, Creative Conversations: A Salon for All Creatives In partnership with Susan Davis; Where artists can connect, learn and support each other on their journey to be creative. On the third Tuesday of every month from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, special guests will serve as conversation leaders to discuss topics that foster connection and professional growth within our creative community. The bar will be open and light refreshments will be served. A sliding scale donation entry with suggested donations of $5-$20 – no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Call of the Wild: Illustrated Edition
November 18, 2022 | Doors at 9:00 am Youth/Student $5
This multimedia adventure blends classic storytelling with projected illustrations from Jack London’s classic novel about Buck, a dog who is kidnapped and forced to work on a dog sled team during the great Klondike Gold Rush. The show uses a 180-degree projection screen that surrounds the performer with a live score by award-winning singer/songwriter Graham Webber. The show features a unique blend of classical illustrations from the book with brand new drawings and animations created by artist Michael Roy. Adults and children alike will love this sometimes funny and sometimes heartbreaking American literary classic tale of adventure and survival.
