As the seasons change and things It’s getting colder, and Family Place is heating up winter fundraising.
The Festival of Trees is coming back this year. And everything will return to normal completely.
All the plants will be in one place in the showroom at Great Plains Ford.
“From November 18th to 24th, we would like to invite the entire community to come into the Ford showroom and see all the beautiful plants set up,” invites Family Place Executive Director Dawn Gutzke.
The tree will be auctioned on November 24, with all proceeds going to Family Place. To contribute by decorating and donating the tree, contact Family Place at (306) 842-7477.
“We hope to have 20-22 trees this year that we will be able to auction,” Gutzke said.
But what do you put on the tree?
“So all the trees are very unique and different. And each tree is special to us. It depends on who does it. Some people like to create really unique ideas for trees, some people like to go with the old Christmas traditions, any tree we get, we love. All the trees are beautiful, unique and special.”
Once your tree is organized You can set it up at the Great Plains Ford showroom.
“Set the tree is November 14th to 17th, so Monday through Thursday. You’ll be able to come into Ford any time between the hours of 9:00 AM and 6:00 AM and have your plants ready. It will open for viewing on the 18th, so if you are able or willing to help us with plants please call Family Place so we can know how many plants we have.”
The silent online auction ends on November 23.
“We are also starting to collect our silent auction items,” Gutzke said. “Anyone wishing to donate silent auction items call us at Family Place. We can pick them up for you or drop them in Family Place and drop them. it’s down”
The silent auction was a huge hit last year.
“Last year, we had more than 100 silent auctions online to bid. They only brought us $15,000, so silent auctions are a big part of our job. And the work will be online again as well.”
