Donor Support for Drury Athletics Set Records with Champions Challenge and Athletics Auction | Catch My Job

SPRINGFIELD, MO., Oct. 24, 2022. Donors show their support for athletics with the most successful sports fundraising campaign to date. by raising over $330,000 in 6-day fundraising.

The crowdfunding Champions Challenge campaign kicks off on Oct. 10 and ends with a live athletics auction at the O’Reilly Family Center on Oct. 15. Parents, fans, coaches, students and Alumni from across the country and around the world are making gifts. With 679 donors, the Champions Challenge raised $263,119, a 50% increase in both dollars and donors last year. The athletics auction brought in $70,000 for a total of $333,119.

“I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Champions Challenge to join our auction. and act as a sponsor of our events,” said Drury Vice President and Director of Athletics Nyla Milleson, who is in her first year leading the department. “It’s been a pleasure to see hundreds of individuals and families who are passionate about Drury University and our sports programs. Make impactful contributions to help us continue the legacy of excellence we love for decades. We really appreciate the investment in our department and in the lives of our student-athletes.”

This is the third year for the Champions Challenge and the 21st year for the annual Athletics auction. Proceeds from both events helped in the distribution of Drury’s 34 sports and the department’s operating budget.

All of this contributes to the benefit of our student-athletes and universities,” said Drury, Executive Vice President of Progress, Marie Muhvic. Giving and Parents stepped up with the challenge of matching alongside our alumni and devoted friends.”

This incredible increase in support Indicates a lot of Drury’s path. While national trends show enrollment declines at the start of the term, Drury has the largest freshman class on record and will host the opening of the CH “Chub” O’Reilly Enterprise Center and Breech School of Business Administration and Judy Thompson Grand Executive Conference Center Friday Oct. 28 at 3pm.
