Ottawa officials and residents are celebrating the complete transformation of an industrial facility.
The Arts Court Redevelopment Project – formerly the Carlton County Courthouse, Arts Court – is now a multidisciplinary arts facility operating as a collaboration between the City of Ottawa and a Residents Steering Committee comprised of nine resident organizations.
“The arts have a strong presence in our city, and it’s only fitting that the central home of the arts in Ottawa grows with this vibrant community and provides a safe space where residents can explore new types of art through galleries and programming,” said Mayor Jim Watson.
“When I walk through the halls of the entire facility, I feel nothing but pride in what we’ve built with the support of our partners.”
The Honorable Mona Fortier, President of the Treasury Board and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ottawa-Vanier offered congratulations and thanks to those who made it possible.
