Iconic South Australian not-for-profit arts organisation, Carclue, has announced it will host a free all-ages event to mark an incredible 50 years of nurturing the careers of emerging South Australian artists.
The 50-year milestone event will be hosted on Saturday 26 November 2022, reflecting the official launch date of Carclue in 1972. The historic North Adelaide heritage-listed site will be activated between 4-10pm for a myriad of displays including live music and entertainment. Multi-arts program that facilitates curriculum and supports young creative organizations through funding and mentoring.
This 50th birthday party is a free all-ages event and will be the main drive to encourage public donations for Carclew’s $50 for 50 Years campaign, aiming to raise $50,000 for the next 50 to ensure South Australia’s leading youth arts organization continues to foster creativity in the state. year
For 50 years, Carclew has been a launch pad for artists and creatives like 2022 Adelaide Fringe Poster artist Isabel the gardener and emerging hip-hop artists Elsie Wameo. The organization facilitated incredible projects, panels and consultations with multi-disciplinary artist choices Dave CourtFilm and TV writer, renowned producer and director Sophie Hyde As well as the mysterious vocalist of the electronic music duo Electric Fields Zachariah Fielding.
Curclue Its historic halls have borne many success stories of artists and creatives, including former Chair of MusicSA and current Artistic Director of Light Cultural Foundation. Anne Wiberg who started his career in the arts at Karklu.
“My job at Kirklees in 2000 changed my life. It was my first role formally working in the arts after 15 years of youth work. I learned a lot about the value of art practice and the enthusiasm and passion of the artists I worked with was a joy to be around. ,” Ann says.
Currently on display at Carclew Tutu Karlikanungku Exhibition Celebrating 29 years of First Nations programming across South Australian schools, communities and emerging First Nations young artists.

“Many people working in the arts and creative industries across Australia today have received encouragement, professional advice and financial support from Curclue for their first steps towards a professional career.
“Carclew, as a nonprofit organization, has invested more than $5 million in the critical early years of young artists’ careers through project grants, fellowships and scholarships. Around 100 early career artists have been appointed as Art Administration Trainees, qualifying them to start their careers.

Carclew’s former chair and long-time supporter of the non-profit, Jane Doyle said:
