Capitol Hill’s sandwich destination Fight Club (633 Pennsylvania Ave., southeast) is holding its delayed grand opening party on Friday, October 21. There will be live music, mezcal tasting sessions, huge sandwiches, and more. The party runs from 7 PM to midnight and tickets is $40.

Copperwood Tavern (4021 Campbell Ave., Arlington) fifth annual Shucktoberfest happening this Saturday, October 22. Admission to the oyster celebration, $46, comes with 10 tasting tickets which you can buy for beer or oysters in any of the sales tents. It runs from 11am to 5pm.

All areas Boys and Poets locations celebrating Cuba Week through Saturday, October 22. Dine on Cuban-inspired dishes, sip on themed cocktails, and check out a variety of events (more info here).

Tanya Maynigo from The craft of Kombucha hosts a Kombucha 101 class (325 Morse St., NE) forward Saturday, October 22. Learn the basics of growing this fermented tea from Maynigo, who have been brewing it for over 20 years. The class runs from 3 to 5 PM and tickets is $50.

Go to the grand opening of the city’s newest ice cream shop, Calypso Ice Cream and Coffee (1730 Trinidad Ave., NE), forward Saturday, October 22. From noon to 2pm, will be giving away free frozen treats and caffeinated beverages to all who wait.

Join the Día de los Muertos celebrations at the Wharf (101 District Square., South West) forward Sunday, October 23. Between 2 and 5 PM, eat street food, listen to live music, and drink lots of Modelo at District Pier. Expect tons of themed decorations and crafts too.

Ivy City Location of Atlas Brewery (2052 West Virginia Ave., NE) holds a book exchange on Sunday, October 23. From 1 to 5 PM, you can meet fellow readers and swap titles over a few beers.

Elias Craig Old Fashion Week runs until Sunday, October 23. Bartenders at some of the city’s best cocktail destinations will be serving the cocktail in aid of the not-for-profit restaurant Southern Smoke Institute.
